Job summary

A leading company in construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager for an airport construction project in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The role involves strategic project leadership, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, PMP or PE certifications, and extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or airport construction projects.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of delivering complex airport projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for the airport construction project, from concept to completion.
• Oversee planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide strategic direction for the airport construction project, from concept to completion.
2. Establish project goals, success criteria and risk mitigation strategies.
3. Oversee planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
4. Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
5. Manage the project schedule, budget and resource allocation.
6. Liaise with airport authorities, government agencies and internal departments.
7. Ensure all activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
8. Facilitate public consultation and stakeholder engagement as needed.
9. Direct contract negotiations and administration or other construction contract frameworks.
10. Oversee procurement strategies, including prequalification, tendering, and award processes.
11. Implement robust risk management frameworks.
12. Ensure adherence to QA/QC protocols and safety standards.
13. Manage change control processes and dispute resolution.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Professional certifications such as PMP or PE.
2. Minimum 15 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or airport construction projects, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
3. Proven track record of delivering complex airport e.g., terminals, control towers and etc.
4. Willing to be based at outstation project i.e Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
