Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Project Development Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar energy projects. The role involves providing technical and engineering support during project proposal and development phases, working closely with sales and design teams to deliver optimized and cost-effective solar solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Proposal Development:
  2. Collaborate with the sales team to analyze client requirements and develop customized solar solutions for C&I clients.
  3. Prepare detailed technical proposals, including system design, layouts, equipment specifications, and project cost estimations.
  4. Conduct preliminary feasibility studies, including energy yield assessments.
  5. Site Assessment and Feasibility Studies:
  6. Perform site visits to assess project locations, including roof structures, shading, and electrical compatibility.
  7. Evaluate site constraints, grid connection feasibility, and project risks.
  8. System Design and Optimization:
  9. Develop preliminary designs using industry-standard tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope).
  10. Optimize system layouts, equipment selection, and configurations to meet performance and budget requirements.
  11. Prepare SLDs, PV system schematics, and documentation for proposals.
  12. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
  13. Develop detailed BOM and project cost estimates.
  14. Coordinate with procurement to source materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance.
  15. Stakeholder Communication:
  16. Provide technical support and presentations to clients during proposals.
  17. Liaise with internal teams to ensure alignment on project deliverables.
  18. Regulatory and Compliance Support:
  19. Ensure systems comply with local regulations, safety standards, and grid requirements in Malaysia.
  20. Continuous Improvement:
  21. Stay updated on solar PV technologies, industry trends, and regulations.
  22. Propose innovative solutions to improve project proposals.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 2-4 years in project development, proposal engineering, or similar roles in solar or renewable energy.
    • Experience in C&I solar projects is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope).
    • Strong understanding of PV systems, inverters, mounting structures, and energy storage.
    • Knowledge of Malaysian renewable energy policies, grid interconnection, and standards.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients and teams.
  • Language: Proficiency in English, Malay, and Mandarin (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Renewable energy or solar PV certifications (e.g., GCPV, PMP).
  • Familiarity with financial modeling tools for renewable projects.
