Job summary

Jabil in Penang, Malaysia seeks an AI/ML Engineer to develop and maintain GenAI and intelligent automation solutions for manufacturing and business use cases. You will build AI applications using AWS Bedrock, LLMs, RAG, vector databases, AI agents, and workflow orchestration, and design data pipelines, APIs, and backend services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science / Data Science / Data Analytics / AI/ML or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of working experience.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu with good interpersonal skills.
• Possesses own transport and can travel independently when required to support stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Project Management, Agile, ITIL, and SDLC methodologies will be a plus.
• Ability to effectively present information in one‑to‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Collaborate with data engineers, MLOps engineers, software developers, manufacturing SMEs, and business stakeholders to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Support deployment, monitoring, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of AI platforms and applications.
• Contribute to cloud‑native, event‑driven, and real‑time analytics architecture.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum teams and support AI governance, solution design, and technical innovation initiatives.

Knowledge & Education Requirements

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with software development best practices.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Machine Learning, including regression, classification, clustering, forecasting, and anomaly detection.
• Familiarity with ML frameworks such as Scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Exposure to Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and AI agents.
• Knowledge of RAG (Retrieval‑Augmented Generation), vector databases, semantic search, embeddings, and agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, Bedrock Agents).
• Experience or exposure to AWS Bedrock, cloud services (AWS & Microsoft), APIs, MCP, and workflow orchestration platforms are an advantage.
• Understanding of data engineering concepts including ETL pipelines, APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, and data integration.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, testing, and MLOps concepts such as model deployment, monitoring, and drift detection.
