Scope
- As a Law Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of the next generation of legal professionals.Your responsibilities will span across teaching, curriculum development, research, and community engagement.The aim is to deliver an outstanding educational experience.This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about both law and education.You will contribute to the academic and professional development of students.
- The candidate shall be a member of either the Civil Law Department, Islamic Law Department, or Legal Practice Department under the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws.He/she shall perform teaching, examining, and research duties, as well as other academic responsibilities as required by IIUM.
- The candidate must also fulfill moral and religious obligations towards colleagues and students as part of their role as an academic staff member of IIUM.
- As a lecturer and member of the academic staff, attendance at meetings related to administrative positions is mandatory.These meetings are based on appointments made by IIUM or directives from the Rector, Dean, or Head of the Kulliyyah/Centre/Department/Institute/Office/Mahallah.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Design and update comprehensive law courses that reflect the latest industry trends and academic standards.
- Teaching Excellence: Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions across a variety of law subjects, incorporating cutting-edge technologies and research methods.
- Student Assessment: Create and evaluate examinations, assignments, and projects to assess studentsâ knowledge and skills while providing constructive feedback.
- Research Contribution: Conduct and publish impactful legal research. Supervise student research projects and theses.
- Professional Development: Stay current with technological advancements and pedagogical strategies through continuous learning and participation in academic communities.
- Community and Industry Engagement: Collaborate with industry professionals to maintain curriculum relevance and provide opportunities for student placements.
- Mentorship: Provide academic and personal mentorship to guide students towards academic and professional excellence.

Remuneration: Basic salary starting from RM7,990.00 to RM22,040.00 (based on experience), with fixed allowances.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must hold a Doctorate (PhD), Masterâs, and Bachelorâs Degree in Law from a recognised university.
Minimum Competencies
- Candidates should have a strong combination of academic qualifications, teaching ability, research skills, and personal qualities suited for higher education.
- Prior experience in teaching and research at the university level is a significant advantage.

Candidates must have excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.A strong track record in published research and active academic participation is highly desirable.
Language Qualifications
All candidates must have:
- Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English Language (including oral examination) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government (for Malaysian citizens).
- IELTS Band 6 or MUET Band 4.
- Candidates without either of these qualifications must sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.
