Job summary

Tan Chong Group seeks a Maintenance Engineer to minimize downtime through preventive and corrective maintenance of welding equipment, CNC machines and plant facilities. You will plan preventive programs, troubleshoot breakdowns, maintain records and manage critical spare parts.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Production and Quality teams, supervising contractors, and driving TPM and 5S improvements in a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–6 years of maintenance related experience.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to work under pressure.
• Able to work in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

Responsibilities

• Minimize production downtime through preventive/corrective maintenance of welding equipment, CNC machines, air compressors, paint booths, cranes and jigs.
• Plan, schedule and execute preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and availability.
• Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns promptly; maintain maintenance records and service reports.
• Manage spare parts inventory to reduce downtime and ensure timely maintenance.
• Oversee facility systems including HVAC, electrical distribution and utilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and ISO requirements.
• Coordinate maintenance with Production and Quality teams; supervise external contractors and vendors.
• Drive TPM, 5S and energy-saving projects for continuous improvement.

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer.

Job Description

• Minimize production downtime through effective preventive and corrective maintenance of welding equipment, CNC machines, air compressors, paint booths, column lifters, cranes, assembly jigs, and plant facilities.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and availability.
• Troubleshoot and repair machine breakdowns promptly to minimize production disruptions. Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history logs, and service reports.
• Manage critical spare parts inventory to ensure timely maintenance and reduce downtime.
• Oversee maintenance of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, and other utilities.
• Ensure compliance with DOSH, DOE, ISO, and company safety requirements.
• Conduct equipment inspections, risk assessments, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with Production and Quality teams to support operational requirements.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of external contractors, service providers, and technical vendors.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), equipment reliability enhancement, and energy-saving projects.
