Production Technician (Susumas)

Role Purpose:

• Follows production and process specifications or instructions and monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, computer systems, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, performs tests to verify production/process conditions, reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment, and maintains operating records and reports of test results.
  
  

Key Accountabilities:

• Tend manual, automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.
• Follow production/process specifications or instructions of higher-level technical personnel and monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
• Set up machines requiring a high level of precision and the interaction of multiple variables.
• Load raw material into machine, determine and control the machine cycle varying and modifying as necessary, and unload finished product.
• Check work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. Some machines may be numerically controlled.
• Perform tests and checks products routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices and making some judgments against not readily measurable standards.
• Report any malfunctions or abnormalities and make minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
• Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Jobs may be of short, medium or long duration requiring frequent change in set up and variation in cycle.
• Adjust set up and process operations accordingly.
• Practice all food safety, health and safety procedures, policies and practices.
• Attend all required safety and technical training.
• Understand and implement those ISO 9000, GMP and HACCAP procedures, that relate to the role and responsibilities of a Production Technician.
  
  

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum SPM or Professional Certificate.
• Minimum 1-2 years of work experience in the Food Technology or Industrial Machine.
• Good verbal communication skills, active listening skills, ability to write records and simple reports.
• Able to analyze issues and solve issues based on SOPs and/or come out solutions according to process.
