Overview

At ASTRODYNE TDI SDN. BHD., we are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team in Perai, Penang. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating day-to-day production operations on the shop floor. This role ensures that products are manufactured on time, within quality standards, and in the most efficient and safe manner, while also leading and developing production team members.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily manufacturing activities to ensure adherence to production schedules, targets, and quality requirements.
  • Manage manpower planning, assigning tasks, and ensuring appropriate skill utilization on the line.
  • Monitor line performance and implement actions to improve productivity, first-pass yield, and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Planning departments to address material issues, non-conformities, and process deviations.
  • Conduct on-the-job training and coaching for production staff to improve skill levels.
  • Ensure compliance with work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and visual aids.
  • Lead response and investigation of quality issues and non-conformances on the line.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing practices such as 5S, waste elimination, and standard work.
  • Support and participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement events.
  • Suggest layout changes, tool enhancements, or process adjustments for better efficiency.
  • Support NPI builds and line setups, ensuring operators are trained in new products.
  • Assist in implementation of engineering changes, including documentation updates and team briefings.
Job Requirements
  • At least 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing processes and engineering roles, preferably with an electromechanical manufacturing background, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledgeable in electronics assembly processes.
  • Able to establish and maintain working relationships with peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
