Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Manage, lead, and supervise a team to achieve organizational objectives.
- Own and be accountable for the department's performance metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, cost, and ROCK (Remove, Organize, Clean, Keep).
- Communicate company policies clearly to the production team and ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) and quality regulations.
- Provide proper training to associates, ensuring certification to perform their jobs according to SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) / WI (Work Instruction).
- Conduct regular 1:1 and weekly meetings with associates for updates, feedback, and development discussions.
- Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) compliance and LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures.
- Ensure products are produced according to prints to meet industry standards and customer expectations.
- Proactively initiate quality improvements to meet OD and PPM targets.
- Timely containment and investigation of quality issues to minimize costs and prevent customer escapes.
- Support OSS scheduling of orders, confirm material availability, and manage the expedite system for on-time delivery.
- Manage machine and personnel capacity, including scheduling, overtime, and leave.
- Oversee cost performance, manage overtime, and drive scrap and productivity improvements.
- Coordinate with technicians on tooling issues affecting efficiency or quality.
- Regularly walk processes to identify quality concerns or bottlenecks and address them promptly.
- Monitor and review metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stop production of all non-conforming products.
Required Experience
- Strong data analysis skills and a data-driven approach.
- Process knowledge relevant to the area.
- Excellent problem-solving and investigation skills; detail-oriented.
- People management and leadership skills.
- Understanding of manufacturing concepts; experience with lean and Six Sigma is preferred.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
- Ability to work with multiple groups (Operators, Floor Managers, Engineers).
- Physical ability to sit/stand for at least 90 minutes and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to adhere to safety rules, wear protective gear, and work in potentially hazardous environments.
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.
