A leading printing company is seeking a Production Supervisor cum QC to oversee production activities and ensure the quality of finished products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising production, performing quality checks, and maintaining quality assurance documentation. Applicants should have a diploma or degree in Printing Technology, with at least 3 years of relevant supervisory experience in the printing industry. Strong technical knowledge of printing operations and excellent attention to detail are essential for this role.
To supervise printing production activities and ensure the finished products meet specified quality standards. The Supervisor cum QC is responsible for quantity verification, defect detection, and ensuring all output complies with client requirements and internal quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Supervision:
Supervise daily production operations.
Monitor press performance and ensure the production process follows the job card/specifications.
Coordinate job planning and manpower allocation to meet production targets.
Ensure raw materials (paper, ink, plates) are available and correctly used.
2. Quantity Checking (QC):
Perform physical checks of printed materials against job orders and artwork samples.
Ensure color consistency, registration, trimming, folding, and finishing accuracy.
Check for common print defects such as smudges, misprints, color shifts, and paper damage.
Verify that quantity produced matches order specifications, considering spoilage and overrun/underrun tolerances.
3. Quality Assurance and Documentation:
Maintain detailed QC records, inspection checklists, and rejection logs.
Flag defective items and isolate non-conforming products.
Prepare daily production and QC reports for management.
Work closely with prepress and postpress departments to correct quality issues proactively.
Skills & Qualifications:
1. Education: Diploma/Degree in Printing Technology or related field preferred.
2. Experience: Minimum 3 years in a supervisory and QC role in the printing industry.
3. Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of offset, flexo, or digital printing operations.
Proficiency in reading job cards, color guides, and proofs.
4. Skills
Excellent attention to detail and visual inspection abilities.
Good communication and team management skills.
Familiarity with quality control tools and reporting formats.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
