A global food company in Penang seeks a hands-on technician to troubleshoot and maintain production machines. The role involves attending mandatory trainings, updating checklists, and ensuring compliance with food quality standards. Ideal candidates have a Diploma in engineering and at least 2 years of experience in a production line, preferably in the F&B industry. Ability to work shifts and communicate effectively is essential.
Troubleshoot minor machine issues (e.g., Moulding, Main Conveyor, OPM, TTME, Carton Sealer).
Attend mandatory trainings (GMP, HALAL, Safety, HACCP) and other training required for the role.
Involve in the implementation and development of continuous improvement programs.
Update the daily checklist, generate reports with the Shift Leader, and act as Shift Leader in their absence.
Replace operators in other areas or lines when required.
Ensure machine and working area cleaning and sanitation are carried out in a timely manner.
Ensure all standard operating procedures and standard work processes are implemented effectively.
Perform product changeovers.
Assist maintenance technicians in performing preventive maintenance for machines.
Assist maintenance technicians in troubleshooting major machine downtime issues.
Attend to minor machine stoppages, summarize issues, and propose solutions.
Involve in IL6S activities at the line/plant level.
Comply with food quality policies and regulations as per company standards.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Conduct proper inspection and planned routine maintenance as per the plan.
Conduct planned quality checks and activities to required CTP & CTQ.
Maintain equipment in base condition through abnormality handling, CIL, centerline, and relevant IL6S tools.
Capable of owning and operating more than one main equipment to support flow-to-work.
Capable of owning standard work processes at the shift level.
Requirements:
Must possess a minimum Diploma in mechatronic/mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of working experience in production line & machine handling.
Preferably someone with experience in the F&B industry.
Must be able to work on shifts.
Must be a hands-on person.
Able to communicate effectively.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
