The company has three manufacturing sites and R&D offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools, and steering systems. A new plant with a testing centre for sensors and semiconductors, PgP5, started construction in May 2021 and began production in 2023. This facility focuses on final testing of semiconductors and sensors, supporting Bosch's growth in semiconductor components.

Job Description

Job Overview

  • Lead and supervise a team to meet production targets and delivery schedules.
  • Identify and resolve production issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflows.
  • Train and develop production staff to enhance skills and efficiency.
  • Track and report on production KPIs for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of operators and technicians on the production line.
  • Conduct Daily Leadership Routine (DLR) meetings with the team.
  • Perform eLPC on the first day of each shift.
  • Lead daily handshake meetings with other shifts.
  • Ensure all team members are trained according to work instructions.
  • Monitor production flow to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Communicate with other departments (Logistics, Equipment Engineering, Product Engineering, etc.) and coordinate production needs.
  • Identify areas for process improvement to increase productivity.
  • Address non-conformities by triggering technicians/engineers.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in production environments.
  • Diploma qualification is required, preferably in Electrical & Electronics or Semiconductors.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and foster a positive work environment.
  • Team-oriented approach to encourage cooperation and motivation.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in production management software and data analysis tools.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong decision-making skills for managing production challenges.
  • Efficient delegation skills while maintaining accountability.
  • Proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness to improve operations.
