Job summary

Samtec Asia Pacific (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a Production Scheduler/Planner to organize and plan orders to meet the Manufacturing Due Date (MDD). You will ensure material, people, and machine capacity are available, and you will batch orders to minimize changeovers while safeguarding due dates.

You will monitor order flow, address risks, and drive on-time delivery improvements. The role requires strong data analysis, lean/six sigma familiarity, and effective cross-team communication.

Qualifications

• Understanding of manufacturing concepts; lean and six sigma preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
• Team collaboration with multiple groups (Operators, Floor Managers, Engineers).

Responsibilities

• Schedule and plan orders to meet the MDD using Scheduling Dashboard or equivalent.
• Batch orders to minimize changeovers without compromising due dates.
• Coordinate with shift supervisors for smooth execution according to plan.
• Monitor and follow through on orders to ensure flow and on-time delivery.
• Report risks of missing due dates to Supervisor.
• Coordinate material requirements with Material Planner.
• Drive OTD improvements with relevant teams.
• Enter correct reschedule codes with realistic dates for past due orders.
• Inform downstream departments of deviations to enable recovery.
• Utilize reports (Daily Order Report, Pocket Report) to manage large orders.
• Assume supervisor duties during absence (handoff, traceability, expedites, personnel).
• Pull in materials within a 7-day window and update material comments.
• Print shop orders and create material sessions as assigned.
• Create parcel IDs for parts going to Sudden Saving.
• Follow up material arrival with packing lists and prioritize needs on the floor.
• Monitor metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Stop production of all non-conforming products.
