Job summary

Advanced Energy in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Production Planner to coordinate production plans, ensure on-time delivery, and optimize material availability across the production cycle. The role demands strong SAP/MRP experience, 3–5 years in manufacturing, and proficiency with data tools.

The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering, sales, and purchasing to minimize lead times, manage ECOs, and maintain efficient shop floor operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of production planning or material management experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a high mix/low volume, pull-based manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to plan, schedule and coordinate production with SAP/MRP.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and data interpretation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle.
• Coordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.
• Provides input to management; schedules and/or interfaces with marketing, sales, production and engineering managers.
• Works to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other schedule interruptions.
• Develops and implements production control functions: master scheduling, shop scheduling, material planning, WIP tracking, and manufacturing performance reporting.
• Approves quantities, schedules and parts lists to ensure timely ordering and issuance of material requirements.
• Coordinates ECOs in production and ensures material availability prior to ECO activation.
• Collaborates with purchasing to develop supply solutions for long lead times (e.g., kanban, line-side stocking).
• Performs scheduling during transitions to outside suppliers to maintain continuity of supply.
• Adheres to quality, health & safety, and 5S policies; supports process improvements.
