Job summary

A manufacturing firm in electrical products is seeking a Production Planner to develop and maintain production schedules, coordinate material availability, and enhance efficiency across departments. The ideal candidate has a Diploma or Degree in supply chain management, along with 2-5 years of relevant experience in production planning or manufacturing coordination. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in SAP are essential for this role, which also offers opportunities for continuous improvement and reporting on production performance.

Job description

Client Background: electrical product range manufacturing & distributing

Headcount: 1

Location: Balakong, Selangor

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders and production capacity.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse and logistics to ensure raw material and component availability.
  • Monitor work‑in‑progress and adjust schedules proactively to meet changing priorities or unexpected delays.
  • Communicate production plans and updates to relevant departments (sales, quality, production team, site and delivery team, etc).
  • Liaise with process engineer to optimize production efficiency by minimizing downtime, set‑up time and material shortages.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, variances and opportunities for improvement as per Legrand Way.
  • Support inventory management by balancing production output with demand and stock levels.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy.
  • Prepare regular reports on production performance, forecast accuracy and capacity utilization.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, manufacturing or related field.
  • Minimum 2‑5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling or manufacturing coordination.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to details.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP system (preferably SAP).
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis capabilities.
