The successful candidate will oversee production operations, ensure quality and safety compliance, and implement lean manufacturing techniques. This leadership role requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in production and an engineering background, ensuring a dynamic work environment focused on operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Production Manager or Senior Production Executive role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on experience in mass production, quality control, safety, and cost management.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and production planning.

Job description

Our client is well-established Japanese multinational company within the electronic and ceramic component manufacturing industry is currently looking to hire an experienced Production Manager to lead and manage their production operations at their plant in Melaka.

Location to work: Batu Berendam Industrial Zone, Melaka

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise day-to-day production operations and ensure smooth running of all production lines

• Plan and execute production schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, annually)

• Manage production resources using the 4M (Man, Machine, Method, Material) optimization approach

• Monitor and control production costs while improving operational efficiency

• Uphold a safe and compliant working environment (SHE – Safety, Health, Environment)

• Ensure product quality and adherence to company SOPs, policies, and quality standards

• Identify and resolve any production or process-related issues with relevant teams

• Implement lean manufacturing principles across all lines

• Train, coach, and develop production operators and line leaders

• Monitor WIP (Work-in-Progress) and optimize line balancing and productivity

• Utilize systems and IoT tools to manage and track performance and resources

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Production Manager or Senior Production Executive role in a manufacturing environment

• Strong hands-on experience in mass production, quality control, safety, and cost management

• Knowledge in lean manufacturing, production planning, and resource optimization

• Familiar with System/IoT-based operations, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

• Good leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Able to manage multiple production lines and implement process improvements effectively
