About the job: Production Manager, based in JB

Our client is one of the largest marker manufacturers in South East Asia. Their products are sold in over 60 countries worldwide.

Job Summary:

To lead and manage the entire Production Department for continuous improvement activities on personnel, material, and capital efficiency on the production floor. Additionally, coordinate the production schedule and ensure product quality meets standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties: (Approximately 70 to 80% of daily work schedule)

  • Monitor production output and efficiency.
  • Develop performance KPIs for production activities.
  • Follow up on production orders to ensure smooth operations and timely completion.
  • Verify daily production forms and monitor overall output.
  • Investigate root causes of non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify areas for improvement and initiate improvement activities.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Promote 5S good housekeeping habits and maintain discipline on the production line.
  • Report to the Operations Director.

Secondary duties: (Approximately 20 to 30% of daily work schedule)

  • Liaise with supporting departments such as Planning, HR, IT, Marketing, QA, and R&D to fulfill production needs.
  • Participate in ISO activities, customer audits, and inspections.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Order spare parts for machinery.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Work closely with staff from all departments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Technical troubleshooting skills.

Ability to coordinate daily production operations.

Proficiency in computer software such as ERP, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Strong leadership, decision-making, and people management skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience as a Manufacturing/Production Manager or similar role.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Ability to work well in a team, handle a heavy workload, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
