A leading company in the food industry seeks a Senior Production Manager to oversee all manufacturing operations. The role involves ensuring compliance with quality standards and efficient planning to meet production targets. The Senior Production Manager leads and oversees all manufacturing operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective and compliant production of food products. This role is responsible for aligning production output with sales forecasts, minimizing waste, managing production costs, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
1) Production Planning & Management
Plan, analyze and execute production schedules to meet both short and long-term sales targets.
Responsible for giving advice and expert opinion in operation difficulties, issues or obstacles for a long-term solution.
2) Quality & Compliance
Enforce compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO 9001: 2015, and BRC standards in collaboration with QA/QC and FSQA teams .
Conduct internal production audits, verify adherence to SOPs and implement corrective actions for non-conformities.
Monitor production costs, reduce waste rates and continuously propose process improvement.
Coordinate overall plant operations, including machinery, manpower and risk mitigation strategies eg. machine breakdowns, labor supply.
Lead production teams, including provide on-job training, performance reviews and development initiatives.
Foster teamwork and continuous improvement culture through Kaizen and other methodologies.
5) Reporting & Analysis
Prepare regular production performance reports eg. output, waste, cost, downtime, quality compliance for senior management.
Use data-driven insights for issue resolution and process enhancement.
6) Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with Purchasing, R&D, QA, Warehouse and Sales to ensure raw materials, logistics and new product introductions are effectively managed.
Participate in new product manufacturing preparations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science/Food Technology/Food Engineering or equivalent
Atleast 5 years in related managerial position.
Familiar with Quality Management System and audit system.
Good communication skills and strong leadership skills.
Proficient in problem-solving, decision-making, report writing, strategic thinking and multi-departmental coordination.
Certified in six sigma or lean manufacturing is an advantage.
Resilience and adaptability.
Good stamina and able to withstand food manufacturing environment.
Great physical & medically fit.
Fast pace and achieve target output.
Able to work within a physical and operational environment.
