The Role
As a Production Manager, you will:
Production Operations & Team Management
To lead and oversee daily production activities to ensure smooth operations and high output quality.
To implement and maintain effective workflow systems and SOPs that support productivity and operational efficiency.
To supervise production teams, ensuring performance targets for output and quality are met consistently.
To enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with industry and food safety regulations.
Material & Resource Planning
To manage raw material planning and usage, minimizing wastage while ensuring continuous production flow.
To collaborate with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
To track Work-in-Progress (WIP) and production inventory to support efficiency and accuracy in stock levels.
Quality Assurance & Reporting
To ensure production output meets product specifications and company quality standards.
To identify production issues and lead problem-solving efforts to prevent recurrence.
To generate regular performance reports including daily output, downtime and quality deviations for management review.
To drive continuous improvement in product quality and operational effectiveness.
Process Optimisation & Cross-Department Coordination
To work closely with R&D, QA and supply chain teams to support product development and resolve production issues.
To lead workflow enhancement initiatives and adopt digital tools for better process tracking and control.
To support strategic planning for capacity expansion and efficiency upgrades in the production line.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in production management, preferably in the food or FMCG industry.
Possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Food Technology, Manufacturing, or related field.
Able to work independently with strong workflow setup and process planning skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and reporting software.
Good leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate production teams.
Strong problem-solving and communication abilities to coordinate across departments.
Proficiency in Mandarin is required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking team members and suppliers.
Location: Eco Business Park 1, Bandar Dato Onn, Johor Bahru.
