Job summary

A leading optical products supplier in Malaysia seeks a Production Engineer to innovate and optimize manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering, with 3-5 years of experience in dicing machinery and knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing. Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in Dicing machinery including setup and commissioning.
  • Experience in glass/optics manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Project management experience preferred.

1. To innovate, re-engineer / develop, simulate and optimize processes and systems to best suit the manufacturing of a product.

2. To conduct continuous quality improvements (dimensional & functional) for product and processes.

3. To optimize glass production processes with 5M approach.

4. To adhere to customer’s product quality requirements and achieve a stable and high-yielding process for sustainability.

5. Perform cost-down initiatives and value engineering to establish a cost-effective production process.

6. To perform statistical and technical analysis on production failures and improve production capability.

7. To manage and revise work instructions and process control plans on a timely basis.

8. To improve process efficiency & cost through automation & IT initiatives.

9. Responsible for the overall stability of the processes and take necessary steps to eradicate deviations.

10. Practice continuous improvement (7 wastes elimination) as a daily culture at the workplace.

11. Attend to any other work/project assigned by your superior(s) from time to time.

12. Adhere to all company Rules & Regulations including work ethics and procedures.

Job Requirements

Formal Education and Training: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Occupational Experience: 3-5 years experience in Dicing machinery (e.g., Accertech, Disco, Simac), including setup, installation, commissioning & product qualification, preferably in an MNC.

Additional Knowledge: Experienced in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, CAD/CAM (NX Siemens, SolidWorks, AutoCAD), with good command of English and/or Bahasa Malaysia. Project management experience and experience in glass/optics manufacturing are advantages.
