Job summary

A rapidly growing manufacturing company in Penang is seeking a production support staff member to maintain accurate records, manage material flows and assist department management. The role requires a minimum diploma qualification with potential for fresh graduates with relevant experience to thrive in a dynamic team environment. Interested candidates must be detail-oriented and capable of supporting various departmental functions while ensuring compliance with production standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum SPM / STPM / Certificate or Diploma required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 is a plus.

Job description

• Maintain accurate production records, including daily output, material usage, and downtime reports.

• Generate and distribute work orders and job travelers according to production schedules.

• Track the movement and status of Work In Progress (WIP) and coordinate with production staff to ensure timely updates.

• Support inventory control by recording raw materials issued, received, and returned to the store.

• Liaise with Quality Control, Warehouse, and Engineering teams to coordinate material flow and resolve discrepancies.

• Input and update data in the ERP system.

• File and archive production documents for traceability and audit compliance.

• Assist the Production Manager and other Production departments with administrative tasks such as scheduling, timesheet collation, reporting, and etc.

• Ensure production floor documentation complies with internal SOPs and regulatory requirements.

• Perform other clerical or support tasks as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Minimum SPM / STPM / Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Manufacturing, or related field.

• At least 1–2 years of working experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.

• Fresh graduates with internship experience in production settings are also encouraged to apply.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP system is an advantage.

• Strong data entry accuracy and basic understanding of production or inventory processes.

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other manufacturing quality systems is a plus.

Soft Skills & Attributes:

• High attention to detail, well-organized, and able to handle repetitive tasks efficiently.

• Strong communication skills to coordinate across departments.

• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

• Willing to work flexible hours or shifts, if required.
