Join Our Team as the Product & Trade Compliance Manager APAC!

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in the dynamic world of B2B e-commerce for industrial and manufacturing parts? As the Product & Trade Compliance Manager APAC, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring regulatory compliance for an extensive portfolio of over 850,000 SKUs across the region.

In this exciting position, you'll lead the charge in overseeing trade and product compliance within the distribution industry. You'll manage product licenses and permits, coordinate seamlessly with global DC supply networks, and source strategically from regional and local suppliers.

Your expertise will be crucial in providing long-term compliance strategy guidance, developing efficient workflows, and fostering collaboration with sales, customer service, category management, manufacturers, and suppliers.

  1. Trade & Product Compliance Strategy:
  • Develop and implement a long-term product and trade compliance strategy tailored to the regulatory landscape of Asia.
  • Ensure compliance with all regional import/export regulations, customs requirements, and trade policies affecting the distribution of industrial and manufacturing parts.
  • Stay updated on changing regulatory requirements and provide guidance on adapting compliance processes accordingly.
  • Oversee applications and renewals for product certifications, licenses, and trade permits required for industrial and manufacturing parts.
  • Manage compliance documentation and maintain a regulatory database for all SKUs.
  • Liaise with regional regulatory bodies, government agencies, and trade organizations to facilitate smooth approvals and compliance adherence.
  • Regional & Global Supplier Sourcing Compliance:
    • Ensure regulatory compliance in sourcing activities across global DCs, regional suppliers, and local vendors.
    • Develop and implement supplier compliance standards and audit programs.
    • Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure all sourced products meet applicable safety and compliance regulations.
  • Workflow, Task, and Business Process Management:
    • Design and implement workflows to streamline trade compliance, product registration, and regulatory approval processes.
    • Establish clear task ownership, timeline management, and reporting mechanisms to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, customer service, category management) and external stakeholders (manufacturers, suppliers) to integrate compliance processes into business operations.
    • Lead and manage compliance teams across multiple APAC locations, ensuring remote teams operate effectively.
    • Manage and provide guidance to market compliance specialists, ensuring alignment with regional and global trade compliance policies.
    • Develop training programs to enhance regulatory knowledge and compliance awareness across the organization.
    • Foster a strong compliance culture while maintaining business agility and operational efficiency.
  • Risk Management & Compliance Audits:
    • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and implement corrective actions.
    • Ensure accurate classification, labeling, and documentation for all traded products.
    • Collaborate with legal and risk management teams to resolve compliance-related issues proactively.
    Preferred Skills and Experience:
    • Extensive experience managing compliance across the APAC region, including knowledge of import/export regulations, product standards, and trade policies.
    • Strong experience in license and permit applications for regulated industrial products.
    • Proven track record in managing high-SKU-count portfolios and working with global DC supply networks and regional/local sourcing partners.
    • Excellent leadership skills with experience managing remote teams across multiple locations.
    • Strong analytical, process improvement, and business process development skills.
    • Professional certification in trade compliance (e.g., CTPAT, CCS, or equivalent) is a plus.
    • Experience in B2B e-commerce and digital compliance solutions.
    • Strong familiarity with automated compliance tools and regulatory tracking systems.
    • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external regulatory bodies.
