Product Specialist Based in Kuala Lumpur

The Product Specialist shall provide the relevant hospital or institution with scrub services as directed by and in accordance with the instructions of the relevant institution or hospital which are provided to the Company from time to time.

The responsibilities shall include without limitation the following procedures during each relevant surgery for which the Product Specialist is required to provide Services (each a “Surgery”). The Product Specialist shall comply with the relevant hospital’s policies, procedures, guidelines, and instructions. The Product Specialist shall be at the direction and under the supervision of the surgeon performing the Surgery.

What will you be doing?

1. Attend assigned hospital at least one hour prior to each surgery
2. Ensure availability and accurate set-up of Smith & Nephew products and instruments
3. Place accurate products in the operating room to avoid unnecessary exits during surgery
4. Check sterilization and working order of Company's products before surgery
5. Follow assigned hospital's scrub policy for surgical preparation
6. Count and document Smith & Nephew instruments and materials before and after surgery
7. Understand accurate handling and use of all Company's products and instruments
8. Clean and organize Company's instruments after each use, ensuring accurate return to logistics partner
9. Inspect instruments and returned products for damage and report promptly
10. Complete UID form with confirmed pricing for billing purposes
11. Report surgeon and hospital's usage of Smith & Nephew products
12. Provide feedback on Smith & Nephew products and competitors
13. Act responsibly to ensure personal and company safety
14. Align with workplace safety, health, and security policy
15. Perform any other duties assigned within the role as needed

Success in the role will require a combination of technical knowledge, soft skills, and a deep understanding of both the business and service-providing sides of an organization. Successful candidates would need the following:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the operating room (OT).

Knowledge of clinical segments/product platforms is preferred.
