Are you a self-motivated and experienced equipment sales individual who enjoys networking? Do you enjoy prospecting, maintaining, and growing sales within the construction, mining, utility, oil & gas, and other industrial markets? We have the perfect opportunity for you!

Atlas Copco Portable Air has an exciting Product Sales Engineer opportunity where you will be responsible for driving our solid growth ambitions in penetrating full market potential in the territories of Malaysia and Singapore. Your roles and responsibilities will vary from customer consultation which includes supporting key dealer accounts focusing mainly in leading them to develop and acquire new customers and expand businesses, while developing business directly in specific applications that our portable air compressor and construction handheld tools portfolio provides solutions as well as obtain and manage key accounts. This is the perfect opportunity for a highly organized team player who appreciates taking ownership of their role and aspires for leadership roles.

Location: Selangor, Malaysia

  • Expected travel rate of up to 70% within Malaysia and Singapore.
  • International travel may be required, including factory visits and attending regional meetings and trainings.

To succeed, you will need to make your contribution in:

  • Execution of sales development plan by promoting and selling of Atlas Copco portable air compressors and construction handheld tools solutions portfolio in the target market segments in Malaysia and Singapore territory.
  • Providing ground product & customer technical and application support - key point of contact for dealers and end-customers, answering queries, providing technical advice, and demonstrating equipment solutions.
  • Tracking market developments, collaborating with sales, marketing, and service teams, providing inputs for creating strategies, setting up sales plans, and developing and nurturing dealers and customer relations.
  • Handling and closing large business opportunities and key accounts.
  • Supporting important dealer accounts.
  • Identifying and prospecting for high potential end-users in the territory relative to Atlas Copco portable air and tools market segments focus and strategy.

We seek your expertise in:

  • Proposing, presenting, negotiating, and closing deals at local, mid-management, and executive levels with dealers and end customers.
  • Engaging on new potential customers, identifying and understanding customer needs.
  • Teaching and offering valuable insights to support customers’ requirements.
  • Tailoring customized sales to customers’ needs and concerns.
  • Taking control of the customer’s sales experience.
  • Providing technical information and training on APE Portable Air & Tools products and applications.
  • Assisting the dealers during joint visits to the end-customers.
  • Handling large opportunities with key customers to provide technical support and build out solutions that will drive efficiency for the end user and profitable growth.

Experience Requirements:

  • 2 years’ experience promoting and selling construction or industrial equipment – knowledge and experience in portable air compressors an advantage and a plus.
  • 2 years’ exposure working with customers in construction, mining, utility, oil & gas, and other industrial segments with similar applications.
  • Technical capability to learn and utilize IT tools such as:
    • Microsoft Teams to host virtual meetings, provide online training, etc.
    • SAP C4C customer relationship management (CRM) system for regular reporting of sales activities, leads generation, opportunity conversion sales quotes, and sales forecasting.
    • Power BI in reading reports and graphs to aid market and business analysis.
    • Passionate about learning and exploring new things; adapts quickly to new situations and opportunities, excited to find new ways, perspectives, and ideas.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent sales acumen with ability to manage dealer network.

  • Degree in Engineering / Marketing – Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
