Objectives of the Position
- Provide trade control, chemical regulations, product stewardship services to BASF group companies, in accordance with established policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Interphase with various stakeholders such as supply chain, customer services, and technical experts to enable the implementation of compliance policies and BASF minimum requirements.
- Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives like Lean Six Sigma and digitalization.
- Guide and support team members in performing routine activities related to Product Safety in Asia Pacific.
Main Tasks
- Execute trade control, chemical regulation, and product safety activities to ensure compliance for BASF companies
- Monitor product reports and review compliance in relevant areas against predefined business process criteria.
- Evaluate, analyze, and verify product regulatory data and compliance documentation for system and database monitoring and maintenance.
- Support team members in resolving service delivery issues, including communication with internal customers and business partners.
- As a regional expert on BASF Product Safety compliance framework, ensure compliance with product safety and regulatory activities across BASF companies
- Monitor and implement product safety and regulatory changes for different countries/regions, managing stakeholder engagement, impact analysis, and execution.
- Share best practices and conduct training, including executing regional and cross-regional projects or initiatives.
- Prepare KPI reports, monitor non-conformances, and drive improvements using tools like Lean Six Sigma, digitalization, and technology.
- Act as a key contact for internal and external audits, including quality checks for improvements and preventive measures.
- Ensure timely review, update, and standardization of work documentation such as process descriptions and work guides.
- Engage in continuous self-development through proactive learning and development (70:20:10 approach).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, preferably Chemistry or related field.
- Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in chemical regulation, product regulatory affairs, or product safety and stewardship activities.
- Strong knowledge of Asia Pacific regulatory requirements, GHS frameworks, and product stewardship.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with SAP is advantageous.
- Fluent in English; Chinese language skills are a plus.
- Experience with digital tools such as RPA, Power BI, etc., is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently.
