Job summary

A renowned Engine MRO company in Malaysia is seeking a Product Engineering Manager to lead a team in developing repair schemes for airfoil components. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in aerospace MRO or OEM environments and at least 3 years in a leadership role. Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification is required. This position involves ensuring compliance with OEM standards and optimizing repair processes for competitive offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Product Engineering team in repair scheme development.

  • Interface with OEMs to understand and adapt to evolving requirements.
  • Support internal and customer audits from an engineering standpoint.
  • Drive cost-reduction and product yield improvement initiatives.

Job description

Our client is a renowned Engine MRO in Malaysia with a production line specializing on the maintenance and overhaul of engine parts.

We are currently looking for a Product Engineering Manager, who will be directly responsible to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of engineers.

This position will be based in Malaysia, and relocation will be required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Leading the Product Engineering team in developing and managing repair schemes for airfoil components
  • Owns the product repair lifecycle from technical development to approval, implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure engineering documentation meets OEM, regulatory and/ or customer requirements
  • Interface with OEMs and stakeholders to understand evolving requirements, incorporate feedback, and expand in-house capabilities.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections from an engineering and product readiness standpoint.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives, product yield improvement, process optimization, and repair development strategy to maintain competitive technical offerings.
Job Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience in an aerospace MRO or OEM environment, with a strong focus on component-level repair development.
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification
  • Familiarity with engine OEMs requirements
