Job summary

South Island Garment Sdn. Bhd. (SIG) in Penang seeks a detail-oriented Product Development Officer to support garment embellishment development, including printing, embroidery and heat transfer.

You will coordinate development, review artwork with internal teams and suppliers, and help ensure samples meet customer requirements. The role offers learning opportunities across fabrics and embellishment techniques, with close collaboration with production and sourcing teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Textile, Fashion Design, Product Development or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of printing, embroidery and heat transfer processes.
• Good attention to detail and colour awareness.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the development of garment embellishments, including printing, embroidery and heat transfer, according to customer requirements.
• Review artwork and specifications with internal teams and suppliers to ensure correct techniques, colours, sizes and placement.
• Follow up on embellishment samples, revisions and approvals to meet development deadlines.
• Check sample quality, appearance and workmanship against customer specifications.
• Assist in identifying suitable embellishment techniques and materials for different fabrics.
• Support troubleshooting of embellishment issues during sampling and production.
• Maintain artwork, sample records, technical details and approval status.
• Assist in obtaining supplier quotations and preparing embellishment costing.

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Product Development Officer to support garment embellishment development, including printing, embroidery and heat transfer.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate the development of garment embellishments, including printing, embroidery and heat transfer, according to customer requirements.

Review artwork and specifications with internal teams and suppliers to ensure correct techniques, colours, sizes and placement.

Follow up on embellishment samples, revisions and approvals to meet development deadlines.

Check sample quality, appearance and workmanship against customer specifications.

Assist in identifying suitable embellishment techniques and materials for different fabrics.

Support troubleshooting of embellishment issues during sampling and production.

Maintain artwork, sample records, technical details and approval status.

Assist in obtaining supplier quotations and preparing embellishment costing.

About you
