Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices in Penang seeks a Product Development engineer to collaborate with Product Development Groups to bring-up and ramp new products, developing and debugging manufacturing and characterization test programs for next-generation AMD microprocessors.

You will work on system-level test programs, debug issues, and identify root causes to improve test quality, while leveraging Java, Python, Shell, and strong Linux/Windows OS familiarity.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and Shell.
• Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
• PC systems power-user or enthusiast.
• Experience with System Level Test (SLT) testing.

Responsibilities

• Bring up the system-level test program and optimize for mass production enablement.
• Debug and solve problems related to product features, test conditions, and contents in the system-level test program.
• Identify root-causes of part failures and propose solutions to improve test quality.

THE ROLE

As a Product Development engineer, you will collaborate with various Product Development Groups to bring-up and ramp new products which include developing and debugging manufacturing and characterization test programs for next-generation AMD microprocessors.

A successful candidate is one who can perform in a role that requires accountability for accuracy, reliability and completeness of assignment results critical to the project’s success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Bring up the system-level test program and its contents, progressing toward optimizations for mass production enablement
• Debug and solve problems related to product features, test conditions, and test contents in the system-level test program
• Identify the root-cause of part failures and propose solutions to improve test quality

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Use of programming languages e.g. Java and scripting languages e.g. Python, Shell
• Good understanding of Linux and Windows OS
• PC systems power-user or enthusiast
• SLT (System Level Test) test experience

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or comparable disciplines
