Job summary

AMD in Penang, Malaysia, invites a Product Development engineer to collaborate across Product Development Groups to bring-up and ramp new products, plan and debug manufacturing and characterization tests for next‑gen AMD microprocessors.

The role emphasizes accountability for accuracy and completeness of results critical to project success, with responsibilities in test pattern development and silicon bring-up. Hybrid work option is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or comparable disciplines.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby or shell scripting.
• Experience with Linux/Unix/Windows OS and test equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Validate new product features, test conditions, test methodologies, and test contents during first silicon bring-up.
• Post-silicon bring up of test patterns leading to optimization for mass production enablement.
• Analysis of part failures leading to test improvement.
• Test pattern and test flow development, debugging, testing and characterization.

THE ROLE:

As a Product Development engineer, you will collaborate with various Product Development Groups to bring‑up and ramp new products which include Plan, debug and handling manufacturing and characterization test programs for next‑generation AMD microprocessors.

THE PERSON:

A successful candidate is one who can perform in a role that requires accountability for accuracy, reliability and completeness of assignment results critical to the project’s success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Validate new product features, test conditions, test methodologies, and test contents during first silicon bring‑up
• Post Silicon Bring up of Test patterns leading to optimization for mass production enablement
• Analysis of part failures leading to test improvement
• Test pattern & test flow development, debug, test and characterization

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, shell script
• Good understanding of Linux, Unix or Windows OS
• ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) test experience
