Job description

This role’s purpose is to support the development of specialty fat products for Bunge Asia, with a focus on dairy fat equivalent solutions. It involves managing product development processes for new or improved products, providing technical data, analyzing processing conditions, setting product specifications, and monitoring customer feedback during new product launches. Additionally, it includes process improvement initiatives and new product development.

Main Accountabilities:

  1. Understand customer needs and expectations by working closely with Technical Services, Commercial, Production, and Quality Food Safety teams to meet customer requirements.
  2. Monitor trial production and coordinate with production personnel on recipes to ensure successful development and launch.
  3. Implement product and process development projects accurately and timely, maintaining good records.
  4. Provide technical support for new products, including processing and product development perspectives, and evaluate raw materials, additives, and process aids for production use.
  5. Collaborate with Technical Services and Product Application teams to explore potential application opportunities from fats.
  6. Be familiar with all operations of pilot plant equipment.
  7. Participate in lab cleanliness and equipment maintenance, ensuring good housekeeping and safety standards.
  8. Continuously develop technical, nutritional, and marketing knowledge.
  9. Assist in investigating quality issues when necessary.
  10. Manage assigned projects and monitor key projects in the pipeline.
  11. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Technology, or related field.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in edible fats and oils.
  3. Knowledge of fats/oils chemistry, processing, and applications is highly desirable. Ability to conceptualize and commercialize new product ideas.
  4. Strong problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and in a team.
  5. Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
