Overview of the role

Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods using spray dryer technology. Responsible for optimizing and improving the spray drying process, ensuring product quality, and maintaining efficient operations, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

1) Process Optimization & Improvement:

  • Develop, optimize, and improve spray drying processes to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, minimize waste, and increase efficiency.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data to identify trends and propose solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Optimize spray drying parameters (e.g., inlet temperature, atomization pressure, drying air flow) to achieve desired product characteristics.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.

2) Equipment & Technology:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new processes, technologies, and equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain spray drying equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in the commissioning and qualification of new spray dryer equipment.

3) Quality & Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to food safety standards and regulations.
  • Conduct process capability studies and statistical analysis to ensure product quality and meet production targets.
  • Implement and maintain effective quality control procedures.
  • Establish and maintain safety procedures for individuals working with spray drying equipment.

4) Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze process data, identifying trends and proposing solutions for process improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports on process performance and improvement initiatives.

5) Other Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of new products and processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, production, and quality control.
  • Provide technical support to production personnel.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in spray drying technology.

Qualification & other requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, particularly with spray drying technology.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software.
  • Experience with process control systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of spray drying principles and equipment.
