Job Title

Product Advisor & Expeditor

About the location

The position will be based in our Kuala Lumpur office, located in the city center with easy access via public transportation.

What you will be doing

  • Proactively attend to customer inquiries for non-standard products and direct troubleshooting activities of WSS equipment to Product Management.
  • Ensure continuous communication with Customer Service, Operations, Product Managers, and Procurement.
  • Follow up on non-standard product quotes and orders with sub-status ‘Awaiting Approval’; advise on cost prices for quotes and orders.
  • Support the setup of new business ventures.
  • Engage in local sourcing activities, including ordering unavailable non-standard items from suppliers, obtaining prices, lead times, delivery costs, and terms, and benchmarking offers to select the best supplier.
  • Issue Purchase Orders (PO) to suppliers and maintain delivery schedules.
  • Receive POs for non-inventory orders and inform Local Customer Service of all delivery costs and terms.
  • Resolve order-related issues collaboratively with Product Management.
  • Register non-standard products and handle Marine Supply Service (MSS) activities such as issuing Sales Quotations (SQ) and Customer Orders (CO), issuing POs to suppliers, and managing delivery instructions.
  • Monitor order arrangements and deliveries, close POs and COs, and register customers, suppliers, and products.
  • Manage supplier and customer invoice payments, address payment issues, and provide delivery route consultations.
  • Maintain communication with Local Customer Service regarding delivery statuses, charges, delays, and availability.
  • Prepare cost pricing information for final invoicing, maintain control reports and documentation, and assist other departments with stock and purchase orders.
  • Ensure transportation is efficient and cost-effective, and that product offers align with scope and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations, and maintain proper document flow, reporting, and delivery tracking.
  • Perform any other responsibilities within reasonable limits as assigned.

What experience and skills are required

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Logistics Management or Operations Management.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in supply chain or logistics; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficient in MS Office and computer literacy.
  • Strong prioritization, customer orientation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good planning, organizational, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, positive attitude, and a team player.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines through effective time management.
  • Motivated to succeed in challenging environments and capable of working under pressure.
  • Resourceful, sincere, and proactive with a pleasant character.
  • Willing to work in shifts, including night shifts from 10 pm to 7 am or 3 am to 7 am / 1 pm to 5 pm.

Additional role expectations

Willingness to work night shifts as specified above.
