Procurement : Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Japanese Speaker)

Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Japanese Speaking)
Location: Persiaran Bandar Utama, Bandar Utama, 47800 Petaling Jaya
Employment Type: Contract (12 months under PERSOLKELLY, renewable based on performance)
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible hours for Japan support)
Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days in-office, 3 days WFH – team-based flexibility)
Salary Range: RM6,000 – RM9,000 (Based on experience and language proficiency)

About the Role

Join a global biopharmaceutical leader and support the Japanese Strategic Sourcing team in executing procurement strategies, managing contracts, and driving value across indirect spend categories. This is a hybrid role combining procurement operations and stakeholder collaboration, ideal for Japanese-speaking professionals with a passion for sourcing and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

1. Delivering Value for Customers

Understand business needs and source effective suppliers

Support negotiations and competitive bidding (RFX)

Collaborate with Japan-based stakeholders on key projects

2. Executing Sourcing Strategies

Manage eRFX processes and productivity projects

Document sourcing activities in procurement systems

Assist with supplier analysis and market intelligence

3. Contract Management

Ensure compliance with procurement policies

Support contract creation, renewals, and stakeholder coordination

Approve or escalate purchase requisitions as needed

What We’re Looking For

Proficient in Japanese (JLPT N2 or above) and fluent in business English

Degree holder with 2+ years of sourcing experience

Familiar with sourcing processes, supplier negotiations, and contracting

Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills

Experience with tools like SAP, Ariba, Scout is a plus

Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
