A leading company in Malaysia is seeking a Procurement Specialist to oversee the procurement process and supplier management within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will coordinate procurement plans, engage in negotiations, and ensure effective inventory management. A Bachelor's degree and over two years of experience in procurement are required. Proficiency in SAP and Excel, along with strong negotiation and communication skills, are essential for success in this role.
Coordinate with the production department to develop material procurement plans based on production schedules and inventory levels to ensure continuous production.
Execute the entire procurement process, enter data in the SAP system, track order delivery progress, handle urgent orders, monitor supplier on-time delivery rates, and coordinate with production and logistics departments to address potential delays.
Conduct market research to identify suitable suppliers, develop and manage supplier relationships, and maintain good communication with existing suppliers.
Implement price comparison and negotiation mechanisms, analyze procurement cost structures, and participate in or lead negotiation and pricing discussions.
Monitor inventory turnover days and collaborate with the warehousing department to handle stagnant materials and scrap recycling.
Participate in the confirmation of new material samples and coordinate with the quality inspection department to execute incoming material inspections, resolving quality disputes and handling returns and claims.
Regularly produce procurement reports and promote the standardization of the procurement process.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or above, major is not limited.
Over 2 years of procurement experience in manufacturing, familiar with procurement processes for categories such as machining, injection molding, and electronic components.
Proficient in using the SAP system and skilled in using Excel for data processing and analysis.
Knowledgeable in cost breakdown and concession strategies in negotiations, with preference given to those with experience in independently signing procurement contracts.
Strong sense of responsibility and ability to handle pressure, proactive and hardworking attitude.
Good communication and coordination skills, flexible yet principled in handling affairs, and with certain negotiation abilities.
