We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Procurement Pharmacist to join our team. This role is responsible for planning and executing procurement activities for a wide range of pharmaceutical products, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery, while providing technical knowledge as required. The ideal candidate will also support logistics and distribution matters in alignment with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree of Pharmacy.
- Minimum 1 year experience in Procurement / Supply Chain or related field. Experience in hospital pharmacy or procurement of pharmaceuticals will be an added advantage. Fresh graduates with the required qualification and interest in this area are acceptable.
- Well-versed in procurement systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to email at a highly proficient level.
- Technical understanding and cost accounting skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin will be an added advantage.
- Detailed-oriented, strong negotiation, coordination, and communication skills.
- Able to plan and work independently.
- Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) is an added advantage.
Basic Functions:
- Assist Procurement Manager in sourcing, forecasting, planning, follow-ups, coordination, and overall management of procurement activities across a diverse range of products.
- Manage distribution and logistics matters related to procurement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement & Inventory Management: Source, forecast, plan, coordinate, and procure pharmaceuticals to meet inventory requirements for regular and ad-hoc orders. Manage alternative sources in out-of-stock situations.
- Manage price setting and overall cost control, including cost of goods and transportation costs.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, lead time, prompt delivery, and best prices.
- Continuous improvement of procurement processes.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers and service providers.
- Distribution and Delivery: Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice. Update shipment status and ensure timely delivery of goods to customers based on committed lead times.
- Logistics: Manage inbound logistics providers and control costs. Coordinate and liaise with customs officers and logistics service providers on clearance matters.
- Legislation and System related: Update Good Distribution Practice SOP when applicable. Maintain item master data. Update import permits related matters.
- Internal Support to Customer Service and Supply Chain: Support customer service team in handling hospital technical inquiries. Provide training to procurement staff and other departments as required. Willing to multi-task and accept additional work as assigned.
