Job description

As the Procurement Manager, you will serve as the market authority, with your expertise playing a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth trajectory. In this role, you will have the autonomy to analyse competitive trends, formulate data-driven commercial recommendations, and shape pricing strategies that maximize trade and performance. By collaborating with the regional procurement team, you will spearhead the introduction of innovative products, ensuring DP World remains at the forefront of the industry.

Key Accountabilities

  • Define, develop, and implement a comprehensive pricing strategy for the sea freight and airfreight within the country, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and market conditions.
  • Drive growth in trade lanes and consolidation lanes by optimizing volume, revenue, and gross profit through targeted strategic initiatives.
  • Establish, manage, and implement the country’s Tender Net Rates (TNR), ensuring competitive positioning in the market while aligning with business objectives.
  • Provide full transparency on proposed selling rates while offering comprehensive support to the Contracts and Tenders team, ensuring the profitable acquisition of new business.
  • Collaborate closely with the Contracts and Tender team to drive long-term growth through effective participation in RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes.
  • Lead short-term growth initiatives in partnership with the Procurement team, optimizing spot rate requests and ensuring alignment with immediate business needs.
  • Generate and analyze the Nonstandard Administration Report (NAR), providing monthly updates on air freight and sea freight market trends to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Evaluate, challenge, and validate proposed rates from overseas offices, ensuring they are commercially viable and aligned with market conditions.
  • Act as a strategic liaison between the sea freight and airfreight product teams, and the marketing and sales teams, ensuring that rate structures are aligned with market demands and company objectives.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and calls with trade lanes in key target countries, fostering strong collaboration and alignment on pricing strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Ocean Freight and Airfreight within the Freight Forwarding industry.
  • 5 years of commercial experience, preferably in pricing and global/regional tenders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Customer-focused with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet price modelling, PowerPoint, and reporting information systems.
