Develop and implement effective procurement strategies in alignment with production schedules and cost-control objectives.
Forecast procurement needs based on production planning and inventory levels.
Evaluate and optimize procurement processes for efficiency and cost savings.
Identify, evaluate, and develop a reliable supplier base for raw materials, machinery, and other goods.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best value.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure consistent quality and delivery.
3. Purchase Execution
Review and approve purchase requisitions and orders according to company policy.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase orders and follow up on delivery schedules.
Work closely with the inventory and warehouse teams to avoid overstocking or shortages.
4. Cost Management & Budgeting
Analyze market trends to anticipate material cost fluctuations and supply risks.
Prepare and manage the department’s budget, ensuring cost efficiency.
Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
5. Quality & Compliance
Ensure all procured materials meet required quality standards and specifications.
Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
Conduct risk assessments for critical suppliers and materials.
Collaborate with the production, quality control, finance, and warehouse departments to align procurement with operational needs.
Support new product development and project launches with timely procurement of required materials.
Supervise and mentor procurement staff, providing guidance and training.
Conduct performance reviews and set objectives for team members.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
In-depth knowledge of supply chain and procurement best practices.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPIM, or CIPS).
Experience in lean manufacturing or just-in-time (JIT) procurement practices.
