Global Equipment & Tooling Procurement works as part of the cross-functional team that initiates, develops, and drives supplier strategy and performance for the purchase of manufacturing equipment and tooling. The team's efforts to reduce costs, manage supplier relationships, and ensure timely delivery of tools in a sustainable manner ensure our factories have sufficient capacity to meet Dyson's manufacturing needs.
Drive the definition of strategic and tactical approaches within the area and oversee execution within the assigned category.
Formulate negotiation strategies with vendors and suppliers to secure the best pricing for equipment and services.
Analyze the full cost structure of each piece of equipment, including direct, indirect, and hidden costs.
Develop cost models for equipment categories and provide insights to assist with budgeting and forecasting.
Initiate and lead cross-functional and process improvement activities aligned with company objectives.
Build and maintain strong internal and external networks, coordinating among various groups and stakeholders.
Partner with functional and cross-functional leadership to influence priorities and ensure supply reliability, optimal total cost, on-time delivery, minimal risk, and high quality.
Utilize leadership and negotiation skills to influence outcomes with stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
Lead complex, strategic, and business-critical projects or initiatives.
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience; ideally with 2 years in cost-related roles or 3 years in equipment procurement (CAPEX/OPEX). Knowledge of SAP or Ariba is a plus.
This role involves activities related to sourcing capital equipment and services to support Dyson’s manufacturing plans (CAPEX).
The ideal candidate will work autonomously, demonstrating meticulousness in cost analysis and supplier negotiations to drive cost reductions.
You will play a key role in ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions that support operational and financial goals.
Coordinate sourcing projects and ensure their completion to meet project and business needs.
Review purchase requests for completeness and compliance.
Approve purchases within authorized limits.
Maintain and update purchase orders, systems, and documentation. Monitor contract and subcontract performance metrics.
