Procurement Executive - Salary up to MYR 7,500 based in Penang

Procurement Executive is responsible for coordinating the flow of released materials within departments according to production schedules to limit cost and disruption while meeting customer delivery requirements.
This role is also responsible for planning and coordinating production control schedules in order to ensure an optimal flow of approved materials to meet production timelines and requirements.

Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.

Job Description

Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.

Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships.

Solicit quotes, conduct bid evaluations, evaluate costs, negotiate optimum delivery schedules, and ensure the best combination of price, quantity discount, and product quality.

Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities.

Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.

Measure, report and improve supplier scorecards resolving misunderstandings, complaints, rejected materials, delivery, and performance issues.

Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.

Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.

Update and maintain daily Order Tracking files along with ERP data to support weekly production meetings and user reporting.

Requirements

Minimum Degree holder with at least 3 - 4 years of working experience in relevant field.

Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within a manufacturing environment / semi-conductor environment.

Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown.

Experience of working closely with suppliers .

Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills .

Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem solving abilities.

Keen attention to detail and accuracy.

Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements.

Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills/abilities.

Must be able to work in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
