Job description

Responsible for accurate and complete planning and purchasing of material supplies for all purchasing/release functions related to capacity planning, ordering, expediting, and procurement as assigned. This includes assisting in source selection, order placement, tracking, and follow-up to ensure timely use, as well as supporting category strategy execution and new project launches. Follow up on all supplier issues, including quality, on-time delivery, quantity, and pricing. This position will work closely with, but is not limited to, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams.

Job Description:
  • Ensure material supplies are ordered accurately and delivered on time to support project schedules.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement countermeasures when shortages occur.
  • Communicate precisely and interactively with Project and Accounting teams to resolve process and cost issues.
  • Support physical and spot-check inventory processes.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of the chain of custody documentation for all purchases.
  • Provide support and input to managers in pricing, supplier selection, and contract compliance. Issue requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for quotes (RFQs).
  • Ensure PO/contract compliance and insurance adequacy as necessary to maintain a constant flow of material delivery to project sites.
  • Control inventory costs to achieve profitability targets.
  • Monitor the receipt of inventory, ensuring proper invoices and/or credits are submitted to the Accounts Payable department.
  • Act as a liaison between internal and external customers, freight carriers, and the shipping department.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance while upholding internal and external policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information discreetly.
  • Results-driven with a strong sense of ownership and goal orientation.
  • Proactive self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Expertise in tackling complex procurement challenges through detailed analysis.
  • Skilled in negotiating with suppliers and evaluating financial, technical, and commercial aspects.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills for effective planning and follow-up.
  • Candidate who are able to converse in Mandarin would be encouraged to apply as this position would need to deal with suppliers from China.
