Job summary

A global logistics provider in Petaling Jaya is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage rates with service providers and support contract operations. Qualifications

  • 1–2 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in logistics or freight forwarding.
  • Good understanding of Incoterms, shipping terms, and logistics operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate rates with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and other service providers.
  • Assist in vendor selection, onboarding, and maintaining updated supplier records.
  • Be the relationship holder with vendors and in between operations and vendors.
  • Support contract management and review agreements with freight and logistics providers.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to match procurement with customer requirements.
  • Track market trends, freight rates, and service availability to provide cost-saving opportunities.
  • Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes.
  • Prepare procurement reports and maintain accurate documentation for audit/compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1–2 years’ experience in procurement, preferably within logistics or freight forwarding.
  • Good understanding of Incoterms, shipping terms, and logistics operations.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
