Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Supplier Coordination
- Assist in executing sourcing strategies for raw materials, packaging, and indirect items.
- Liaise with local and overseas suppliers to obtain quotations, evaluate proposals, and conduct basic negotiations to ensure quality, pricing, and delivery expectations are met.
- Support supplier onboarding and qualification processes.
- Procurement Execution
- Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in compliance with company procedures.
- Follow up on order confirmation, delivery schedules, and shipment tracking to ensure timely arrivals.
- Coordinate with the warehouse and production departments on material availability and urgent requirements.
- Supplier Relationship Support
- Maintain regular communication with suppliers to monitor performance and address operational issues.
- Update supplier databases and ensure documentation such as contracts, agreements, and certifications are up-to-date.
- Cost Monitoring & Savings Support
- Assist in collecting market price intelligence and supplier cost structures.
- Participate in cost-saving initiatives such as price comparison and alternate sourcing under manager guidance.
- Procurement Process Improvement
- Ensure procurement transactions follow internal SOPs and company policies.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve procurement workflows and system efficiency.
- Inventory & Production Coordination
- Work closely with planning and production teams to align purchase timelines with inventory needs.
- Monitor stock levels and highlight potential shortages or overstocking situations to the Procurement Manager.
- Team & Reporting Support
- Assist in preparing procurement reports, spend analysis, and supplier performance data.
- Support any ad-hoc procurement projects or cross-country initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum 2–4 years of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing or trading environment.
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Basic understanding of sourcing, purchasing processes, and supplier coordination.
- Good negotiation, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Familiarity with international trade terms (Incoterms), import/export documentation is an advantage.
- Able to work independently with attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
- Tools:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP or procurement software systems.
- Education:
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
