Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in Kulim, Kedah is seeking a Procurement Specialist to optimize the procurement process, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with safety guidelines. The role requires at least 3 years of experience in purchasing and proficiency in MS Office and SAP. Knowledge in Supply Chain Management is an advantage. Qualifications

  • Min 3-4 years of relevant purchasing experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge in Supply Chain Management / ISO is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English and Malay; Japanese is an advantage.

Job description
Overview

To optimize procurement process includes MRO sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, assist daily procurement operations, and maintaining safe workplace.

Responsibilities
  1. Responsible on daily procurement activities including PR, RFQ and purchase orders processing.
  2. Identify, evaluate and manage potential vendors at the competitive price, quality, capacity and lead time.
  3. Negotiates prices, delivery, timelines, credit terms, contracts agreement and renewals.
  4. Build and maintain good relationships with vendors, liaise on purchasing documents, invoices, order confirmations, delivery schedules, discrepancies and issues.
  5. Maintain and update supplier master/database, reconciliation of reports, contracts agreement and other related documentation.
  6. Participate and assist in vendor yearly evaluation and vendor audit.
  7. Assist implementation of procurement strategies, policies and procedures, ensure consistency and efficiency.
  8. Ensure safety, GMP's and regulatory guidelines compliance
  9. Any other tasks assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
  1. Education level: STPM/Diploma/Degree in Business Administration/Supply Chain or equivalent (knowledge in Supply Chain Management / ISO – advantage).
  2. Year(s) of Experience: Min 3~4 years of relevant purchasing experience in manufacturing industry.
  3. Capability: Proficient in MS Office, ERP/SAP/MES and MRP System.
  4. Skill(s): Good communication, time management, problem solving and good teamwork.
  5. Language: Fluent in English, Malay (Japanese – advantage).
