Job summary

A leading Malaysian engineering company is seeking a Procurement and Logistics Manager to develop and implement strategies aligned with business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, logistics, and an engineering degree, proficient in Mandarin, to liaise effectively with partners in China.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and logistics, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Proficiency in Mandarin required for liaison with China-based partners.
• Candidates with an engineering background in renewable energy preferred.

Job description

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and budgetary targets.

Source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

Oversee logistics operations including inventory management, warehousing, shipping, and transportation.

Coordinate with internal departments to forecast demand and align procurement with production, project needs and sales plans.

Monitor market trends, identify potential risks, and establish contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.

Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in procurement and logistics.

Prepare regular reports on procurement and logistics performance and cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Admin, or Engineering (C&S, M&E, E&E, Design) or other relevant fields.

Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and logistics, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken & written) is required for liaison with China-based partners.

Able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
