Responsibilities
- Oversee and participate in the preparation, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and administration of legally binding contractual agreements.
- Represent the company in external negotiations as required, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Analyze contractual issues, provide guidance on risk mitigation, and develop creative solutions to protect company interests.
- Educate and guide team members on contracting principles, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Ensure all contracting activities adhere to applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and The Boeing Company practices and guidelines.
- Review and negotiate supplier contract terms, to align with operational needs and long-term strategies.
- Identify and assess contractual risks and exposures, advising on mitigation strategies.
- Proactively manage supplier contracts, including tracking validity, documentation, value, amendments, extensions, and closeouts.
- Develop strategies for contract renewals and negotiate improved terms with existing suppliers.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Supply Chain Department regarding contractual activities and obligations.
- Handle potential contract breaches and disputes with customers and suppliers promptly and effectively.
- Serve as the primary liaison for supplier-related contractual matters, managing formal written communications and supporting the Supply Chain Department in supplier negotiations.
- Ensure all contracting work is conducted in compliance with SOPs, company policies, and guidelines.
Requirements
- Degree in Law (LL.B) or a related field with at least 7 years of experience in contract law, corporate law, and commercial legal matters.
- Strong understanding of contract management, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation, particularly in procurement and supply chain operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft, negotiate, and interpret complex contracts.
- Proactive and analytical mindset, capable of identifying legal risks and providing strategic solutions.
- Team-oriented and adaptable, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external partners.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying updated on legal and regulatory changes relevant to the industry.
