Job summary

Air Products Malaysia Sdn Bhd is expanding in Pengerang, Johor and is hiring a Process Technician to support a new LNG-based ASU plant producing nitrogen, oxygen and argon. This operations-focused role requires working 12-hour shifts and participating in start-up, shutdown and rate adjustments within a safe, compliant environment.

Qualifying candidates hold a Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical/Process Engineering or SPM with at least 2 years of process operations experience, and have familiarity

• Experience in industrial gas, ASU, refinery, chemical, petrochemical or O&G plants.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor ASU plant on 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Perform start-up, shutdown, normal operations and rate adjustments safely.
• Monitor control room and field parameters; identify abnormalities and escalated.
• Perform cryogenic tanker filling, documentation and reporting.
• Issue Safe Work Permits; support LOTO, inspections and turnaround activities.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, ISO and company procedures; maintain housekeeping.

Air Products is expanding in Pengerang, Johor and we are hiring Process Technician to support a new LNG‑based ASU plant producing Nitrogen, Oxygen and Argon. This plant uses new LNG ASU technology and operates under proven systems and safety practices.

This is an operations‑focused role. Maintenance‑only candidates may not find this position suitable.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor ASU plant on 12‑hour rotating shifts.

Perform start‑up, shutdown, normal operations and rate adjustments safely.

Monitor control room and field parameters; identify abnormalities and escalated.

Perform cryogenic tanker filling, documentation and reporting.

Issue Safe Work Permits; support LOTO, inspections and turnaround activities.

Ensure compliance with EHS, ISO and company procedures; maintain housekeeping.

Requirements

Technical Diploma in Mechanical / Chemical / Process Engineering, OR

SPM with minimum 2 years’ experience in plant process operations.

Experience in industrial gas, ASU, refinery, chemical, petrochemical or O&G plants.

Comfortable working 12‑hour shifts (8am/8pm), including weekends and public holidays. Working days rotation schedule 3-2-2-3.

Basic computer skills (MS Windows / MS Office).

Own transport required.

Nearest town 5 minutes’ drive with food options.
