Job summary

A leading medical technology company is seeking a Molding Process Technician to assist with manufacturing operations. This role involves supporting the process engineers, creating documentation, troubleshooting production problems, and ensuring compliance with manufacturing practices. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience, strong technical skills, and relevant educational backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in Production Sustaining/New Product Introduction.
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of scientific molding approach and peripheral equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Process Engineer in maintaining manufacturing line goals.
  • Create necessary manufacturing documentation.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

The Molding, Process Technician is responsible for performing assigned technical tasks by Process Engineer or superior, assist with process development and generation of visual instructions and procedures, completes assigned duties on time, follows document procedures, and maintains compliance to established manufacturing documentation / practices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Support Process Engineer/superior in sustaining injection molding manufacturing line operational goals.

· Create manufacturing documentation required to support manufacturing, testing, and production operations.

· Create simple tools, fixtures, and jigs to support production operations.

· Support in Engineering Job (E-Job) start-up & support molded samples operation run with Engineer.

· Assist Process Engineers with various tasks necessary to support daily manufacturing operations.

· Initiate troubleshooting, root cause analysis and identifying effective solutions to production problems or NPI projects.

· Coordinate communication to Production Operators or Process Engineers on root causes analysis and findings.

· Assist Process Engineers in executing Continuous Improvement activity - Yield, Cycle Time improvement etc.

· Coordinate / request for supplier Quotation / Purchase order for New Equipment’s, Fixtures and Tools.

· Supports investigation of non-conforming materials.

· Support and perform validation activities (IQ, OQ and PQ) lead by Process Engineers.

· Support and perform continuous verification of manufacturing equipment, to make sure equipment is in good working conditions and maintain its validated state. Report mold damage and monitor effective of mold repair status.

· Production line monitoring to ensure compliance to established manufacturing documentation / good manufacturing practices to maintain and enhance product quality.

· Perform any other reasonable duties/task assigned by Engineer/Superior.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

· 1 years of experience in Production Sustaining and/or New Product Introduction Projects.

· Demonstrated skills in basic electronics and/or mechanical design aptitude.

· Ability to communicate in Malay (written and oral) and basic English (written and oral).

· Ability to perform basic data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Working experience in high volume manufacturing environment.

· Working experience within plastics manufacturing industry – injection molding etc.

· Knowledge of scientific molding approach methodology ie mold setup.

· Knowledge of peripheral equipment such as material dryers, mold temperature controllers, sprue pickers, servo robots, etc.

· Metrology including GD&T (desired). Use of measuring equipment (Calipers, micrometers, etc.)

· Experience with CAD software.

· Experience in working within regulated environments ie. FDA CFR part 820 or ISO13485.

Education:

Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Electrical or Electronics or higher.

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in a production environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required.
