Process Lead Engineer - Offshore Platforms

Location: Kuala Lumpur / Site (as required)

Employment Type: 2-Year Contract

Overview

Responsible for managing process engineering activities for offshore platforms, ensuring design deliverables meet technical integrity, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering team to deliver high-quality designs
• Develop and maintain process design basis, PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and simulations
• Perform hydraulic, equipment sizing, relief systems, flare design, and utilities calculations
• Ensure design compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications
• Coordinate interfaces with mechanical, piping, instrumentation, safety, and offshore operations teams
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and other safety reviews
• Review vendor documents and technical bids
• Support commissioning and start-up teams with process guidance
• Mentor junior engineers and develop team capabilities

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 15 years' experience in process engineering, with at least 8 years offshore
• Proven experience as Lead or Senior Process Engineer in FEED and detailed engineering
• Proficient in process simulation software (HYSYS, Aspen Plus, Flarenet, Pipesim)
• Strong knowledge of offshore process systems including separation, gas compression, dehydration, and utilities
• Familiarity with international standards (API, ISO, IEC, NORSOK)
• Strong leadership, communication, and multi-discipline coordination skills
