1. Process Design & Development
- a. Design, develop and optimize machining processes for CNC milling, turning, drilling and other precision machining operations.
- b. Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters (speeds, feeds, depth of cut) to maximize efficiency and tool life.
- c. Conduct feasibility studies and process validation for new programs.
- d. Implement lean manufacturing methodologies to eliminate waste and reduce variability.
2. Programming and Tooling
- a. Develop, maintain and optimize CNC programs (G-code) for 3 axis machining centers.
- b. Develop, maintain and optimize CMM programs for inspection.
- c. Work with CAD/CAM software to generate toolpaths and CNC program.
- d. Design new toolings.
- e. Collaborate with tooling suppliers to select and test new cutting tools and work holding solution.
3. Quality and Troubleshooting
- a. Monitor machining processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements (Aviation Regulation, EN9100, OSHA etc).
- b. Analyze machining data to improve process stability, non-quality, reduce scrap and increase throughput using data analysis tool.
- c. Support root cause analysis and corrective action for machining process‑related defects or downtime.
4. Production Support and Continuous Improvement
- a. Provide technical support to machinist and production teams to resolve machining issues.
- b. Reduce cycle times and optimise control plan through process improvements.
- c. Develop and maintain documentation for machining center (SOP, Work instruction, setup sheets, PFMEA etc).
- d. Train the operators and ensure a sustainable support for production and maintenance.
- e. Ensure periodically the achievement of Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA).
5. Development & Design Collaboration
- a. Collaborate with SLS design office to ensure manufacturability (Design for manufacturing).
- b. Develop machining processes and CMM program for prototype and production parts.
- c. Read and create mechanical drawings with 2D/3D CAD software.
- d. Participate in contract review and provide inputs on material selection and machining feasibility.
- e. Lead the process and equipment qualification accordingly to Safran Landing Systems process and procedures including perform First Article Inspection (FAI).
6. Project Management
- a. Lead and support process improvement projects from conception to implementation.
- b. Lead or support capital equipment selection, procurement and commissioning for machining workshop.
- c. Manage budget, timelines and resources for engineering projects.
- d. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment and automation solutions.
- e. Interface with contractors and stakeholders.
7. General
- a. Liaise with sister plants for technical discussion.
- b. Conduct rigorous safety assessments and risk analyses to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- c. Adhere and actively participate in occupational Safety, Health and Environmental; and Energy policies, procedures and activities such as I-See I-Act, GPI, low carbon initiative, etc.
- d. Adhere and comply with Business Ethics, Anti-Corruption, Flight Safety Management System, and others relevant policies, procedures and activities.
- e. Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
- 5 years of hands‑on experience in machining.
- Profound knowledge of machining and digital programming.
- Technical expertise in Zeiss CMM will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge in PLC, HMI, Robotics, Doosan CNC and Fanuc Robot.
- Excellent leadership, communication, team player and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and client engagement.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Prior experience within industries such as automotive, aeronautics is advantageous.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office application, Minitab, JASP.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
