Job Description:

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Process Engineer (Injection Moulding) located in Flex PTP.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer (Injection Moulding) role is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes by providing technical support and maintenance of manufacturing methods in the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Experience in Injection Moulding machines and processes, mold setup, troubleshooting, and process control.
  • Exposure to mold testing, optimizing, and establishing nominal processing parameters to achieve quality and cost-effective products.
  • Knowledge of engineering plastics materials, preparation for processing, and ensuring parameters are optimized for material changes.
  • Monitor and ensure cycle time, downtime, and other metrics meet targets for output, efficiency, and yield.
  • Assist sub-molders to reduce unwanted stoppages and improve yield and efficiency.
  • Evaluate tool performance, propose improvements, and coordinate repairs to reduce reworks and increase output.
  • Oversee new processes, equipment, and tools at supplier sites and train personnel as needed.
  • Troubleshoot process-related issues and solve problems effectively.
  • Establish robust process controls and review processing methods for productivity improvements.
  • Implement safe production environments at supplier sites to enhance productivity.
  • Participate in activities to ensure FDA parameters, improve cycle time, reduce rejection, and increase yield.
  • Review daily production outputs and delivery requirements with planners/purchasers to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Participate in meetings, provide data on production, downtime, and quality issues.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by management and prepare reports as needed.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier sites to monitor production activities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training in injection molding processes.
  • Typically 3 years of experience in injection molding.
  • Knowledge of tools such as electronic assembly components, schematics, PCB operations, testing equipment, inspection tools, and mechanical/electrical tools.
