Process Engineer II - Semiconductor Manufacturing & CI

Job summary

UCT in Malaysia is seeking an Engineer II to support production build on the manufacturing floor, shaping processes and documentation for assembly and testing of semiconductor systems. You will develop manufacturing-ready instructions, participate in process improvement, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

The role requires 1–3 years of relevant experience, a degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics or Industrial Systems, and hands-on capability with MES/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment.
• Knowledge of electronic Work Instruction software is a plus (i.e. Sequence).
• ERP System Software
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, emphasis in Excel.
• Prior experience leading small teams to achieve project success.
• Good Interpersonal skills; ability to work alone or in team environment.

Responsibilities

• Create Manufacturing ready documentation such as SOPs and Assembly Process Workflows.
• Establish processes for manufacturing and create work instructions for assembly in MES.
• Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes and create process control plans, PFMEA and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance to POR and CE compliance.
• Drive Continuous improvement with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality to improve quality, efficiency and cycle time.
• Initiate Engineering changes and waivers as required.
• Work with IE to optimize layout and product floor layout for plants.
• Implement Lean line using DFT concepts with relevant Jig and Fixtures.
• Troubleshoot quality issues and first-pass yield improvements.
• Coordinate product transfers including training and equipment/facility requirements.
• Liaise with Engineering, Materials, and Quality on BOM changes and RCCA/8D issues.
• Coordinate with Test Engineering on testing development or issues.
• Coordinate with customers for BOM/drawings/issues via reports.
• Participate in MRB meetings and drive disposition decisions.
